As I sorta promised, my review of Alan Rickman's new play can be found HERE. :D Go, read, and enjoy it. I didn't post any spoilers because I felt it would take away from the show if anyone were to see it and know what was going to happen. But if you'd like to know... I'll answer questions there. ;)

New York was beautiful if not a bit bipolar. First night there was of me shivering and trying not to look like the typical Californian wimp who could not handle cold weather. The second day was marvelous and spent with friends and family in lower Manhattan. I will post photos soon of my wanderings. That day was also beautifully clear, but still a tad cold.

Today it snowed. What. The. Hell. I absolutely thought the scenery was breath-taking under all that white. But after walking two minutes through it, I still prefer my warm weather and season-less southern Cali.

I am on the plane home as I write this so au revoir New York. Until next time!

Thursday morning I'll be flying away from gorgeous sunny Los Angeles to the City that never sleeps, New York, to see my favorite man, actor, human in the entire world. Unfortunately I haven't been back to NYC since 2007.

This time I'll be traveling with my dear Mum and a good friend and her Mum. And meeting another dear friend when we get there. It is going to be a blast! I haven't been on a proper trip in ages due to being "freelanced" and then work and other obligations. It's been too long since I've been on a plane.

I have an excellent surprise for said friends on Thursday night which consists of a certain bar that holds an... exotic site to the US. I can't say more or else both my friends will know what the hell I'm talking about. I shall have photos, of course.

Most of Friday will be spent sight-seeing and trying not to think of the play that night. I will be at the stage door, whether it rains or not. I'll freeze out there for an hour just to see that smile again. I love Alan Rickman in comedies so this is a real treat. He already looks arrogantly dashing in those press released photos so you know his character is going to be great.

I'll be writing up a review for :iconfocus--rickman: so I'll post a link to it here.

Saturday is another day of living it up in the city before we fly back that night. Just a lovely, very quick trip for us this weekend. Photos and the review should be up on Friday night, Saturday night, or Sunday afternoon. I'll be too excited to sleep so any time during those days. :XD:

Every year since 2005 I've been able to go to the San Diego Comic Con and revel in everything Geekdom has to offer. I love it. It's a weekend where I can park my car on a Thursday or Friday night, walk/run everywhere all weekend and go home happy on Sunday late afternoon. I usually get to see everyone I want to and attend all the panels or films I want to see.

The big panel and goal for this upcoming weekend is to see the DOCTOR WHO panel with Matt Smith and Karen Gillian on Sunday and try to get into the Nerdist podcast which I'm pretty sure is sold out. It's worth a chance to get in though. Lady Luck may smile down on me. =D TORCHWOOD is the other panel I really want to see. I've heard rumors that the Tenth Doctor may make an appearance along with other special guests. If Arthur Darvill, Alex Kingston or Steven Moffat show up, I'll be a happy fan. Getting surprised at SDCC is wonderful and makes the whole weekend so worth it!

Anyway, SDCC is the best place to people watch for a geek like me. There's so many people from all around the world walking around with the lovely Gaslamp District as an excellent backdrop. In the past couple years I've been able to get on the guest lists to some of the parties around the area and meet some interesting people. The views from the various hotels are breath-taking. Last year I drove up at the last minute with only a Saturday pass so I didn't take that many photos. I got lucky on Sunday with a lovely lady letting me have her pass. This year I'm much more organized. If I don't take at least a thousand photos, I'll consider myself a failure. ;)

I do plan on visiting the DeviantArt sponsored gallery since I really do visit the gallery every year for at least an hour. If you have art or anything posted there, let me know and I'll pay particularly close attention to it.

I can't wait! After being so busy with work and Harry Potter [did an almost-all-nighter on Thursday/Friday and it was incredible!], I could do with a weekend away. :boogie:

I have Social Disease. I have to go out every night. If I stay home one night I start spreading rumors to my dogs.~Andy Warhol

I go out. A lot. Not as much as Warhol above obviously, but enough to have many tales to last more than a fortnight. As humans, we're naturally social creatures. We need or seek out the company of others. When we congregate, it's usually at something art, food, or drink related. We go to concerts, lectures, plays, or movie theaters. We meet up for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and that 3 AM Denny's food grub stop. We meet up for happy hour, celebratory toasts, or even the occasional stress-reliving drink at our favorite watering hole. Call it Life, the human condition or the weekend, in my case.

About half the time, I do have my camera at my side. The other half, I don't want to carry it around or I don't think I'll get a shot worthwhile. I don't know why I always think that because I see unexpected things most of the time. Luckily, I am one of those obsessed Americans who cannot part with their phone lest I succumb to a catatonic state of being. I can survive without it, but who would really want to?

I have had an iPhone 3G S for over a year and a half now and I wouldn't trade it for any other phone. Ever. It's the perfect device. The camera on it has been my life saver. Recently I added Camera + and haven't stopped playing around with it since. No one should have let me have an editing program on an object I carry around 24/7.

Anyway, I have a lot of non-traditional photos that I believe are just as good as my other 'works.' I created iPhone Photos in my Gallery so I can be able to share my photos here. Use of an iPhone or other very small hand held devices are becoming more common place. We'll be seeing more and more art from such devices in the future. It's already happening now! :typerhappy:
